I usually prefer it when he's rapping in a group of MCs (ie. Deep Puddle Dynamics) rather than the only man on the mic.

I really do appreciate that Kanye has moved out of his comfort zone and made a record that might knock him on his ass, but I still don't care for it. I've always like most of his solo records, his beats on old Jay Z albums, and he's always had amazing singles, but 808s just didn't do a damn thing for me.

I'll have to check out that Game track, though I've never cared for him...at all.

Hope you enjoy the Onra. Let me know if you need a full upload of the album.Mark E. I will definitely be checking out Flying Lotus, Onra (wicked!), PUTS and Kool Keith. Subtle I've never enjoyed.

My favourite hip-hop single was "Dope Boys" by the Game.Bjorn Olsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09137692351238569535noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5127671115713357023.post-5890860015196752792008-12-27T21:59:00.000-08:002008-12-27T21:59:00.000-08:00Putting the Flying Lotus album in the list was a b...Putting the Flying Lotus album in the list was a bit of a stretch for hip hop. Putting the Kanye in there would have been a joke. I wouldn't even say that it's a bad record, it just isnt a rap record to me. Pure pop. I admire his willingness to go out on a limb and switch things up a bit, I just don't think that he pulled it off. The man should really just stick to making beats for Jay-Z, because the lord knows THAT man can use all the help he can get right now.Mark E.
